Product Information
About the Product
ScleralFil preservative free saline solution is a sterile buffered isotonic saline containing boric acid, sodium borate and sodium chloride in purified water. It is supplied in single-use twist-off bottles of 0.33 Fl. Oz. (10 mL), packaged in a carton of 30. The formulation contains no preservatives and no mercury containing ingredients such as chlorhexidine or thimerosal.
It is a preservative free saline for contact lens wearers, indicated for rinsing soft, rigid gas permeable and hard contact lenses prior to insertion, as an insertion solution for large diameter scleral lenses, for rinsing lens cases, and for rinsing lenses throughout the day following proper lens disinfection. Because each vial is single use and the solution will not remain sterile after opening, a fresh vial is opened each time and the unused portion is discarded.
Materials
- Sodium chloride The salt that makes the solution isotonic.
- Boric acid and sodium borate The buffer system of the solution.
- Purified water The vehicle the solution is made up in.
