Menicon LacriPure Sterile Saline Solution - 98 Single-Use 5 mL Vials for Scleral Lenses

About the Product

Preservative free 0.9% sodium chloride solution in sterile single use vials. Each vial holds 5 mL (0.17 oz) and the box contains 98 vials. There are no preservatives and no buffering agents; the contents are purified water and sodium chloride. On average a 98 vial box is a three month supply.

This is the unit dose saline that scleral lens wearers use to fill the bowl of the lens before insertion, and that soft, rigid gas permeable, hybrid and hard lens wearers use to rinse a lens before it goes in. Each vial is opened by twisting off the tab, used once, and discarded, so no solution is carried over between uses.

Materials

• Sodium chloride, 0.9% The saline component, at the concentration of normal saline.
• Purified water The remainder of the solution.

Preservative free and unbuffered.

Specifications

How to Use

1. Wash and rinse hands thoroughly before handling lenses.
2. Twist off the vial tab completely.
3. For soft, rigid gas permeable, hybrid and hard contact lenses, apply several drops to each lens surface to rinse the lens before insertion.
4. For scleral lenses, rinse both sides of the lens and fill the concave back surface before insertion.
5. Rinse the inner surfaces of contact lens cases and vial caps before use.
6. During the day, if needed, remove the lens, rinse both surfaces and re-insert.
7. Discard each vial after use. Do not reuse.

Warnings

• DO NOT use LacriPure for the storage of contact lenses. Usage of saline for storage may cause serious and sight-threatening eye infections such as Acanthamoeba, causing corneal ulcers and possibly permanent loss of sight.
