About the Product

This twin pack contains two tubes of Muro 128 5% sodium chloride hypertonicity ophthalmic ointment, 1/8 oz (3.5 g) each. Sodium chloride 5% is the active ingredient and its stated purpose is hypertonicity agent. The ointment base is lanolin, mineral oil, purified water and white petrolatum.

This is an over-the-counter drug that is to be used only under the advice and supervision of a doctor. It is applied inside the lower eyelid every 3 or 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor, and the petrolatum and mineral oil base makes it a thicker, longer dwelling form than the Muro 128 solutions. The same Muro 128 line is also supplied as 2% and 5% ophthalmic solutions, each with its own label.

What Is Included

How to Use

1. Pull down the lower lid of the affected eye.
2. Apply a small amount (1/4 inch) of ointment to the inside of eyelid.
3. Apply every 3 or 4 hours or as directed by a doctor.

Warnings

For external use only

Do not use except under the advice and supervision of a doctor.

When using this product

• it may cause temporary burning and irritation
• replace cap after use
• to avoid contamination, do not touch tip of container to any surface

Stop use and ask a doctor if

• condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
• you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye

Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Storage

• store at 15 to 25 degrees C (59 to 77 degrees F)
• keep tightly closed
• do not freeze
• see crimp of tube or carton for Lot Number and Expiration Date
• do not use if difficult to dispense or visible particles are seen in the product
