About the Product

Available options: Blue, Cobalt Blue, Light Green, Orange.

This is the two way scleral handler in the DMV range, used to place a scleral lens on the eye and to lift it off again, and also to remove a prosthetic eye. Insertion and removal use the handle differently: the lens is carried on the cup with the handle left alone, while removal works by squeezing the handle first and releasing it against the lens to build suction. Ten handlers suit the six month replacement schedule and keeping spares in more than one place.

Blue

How to Use

To insert a lens:

1. Place the wet contact lens on the cup without compressing the handle, and it will adhere to the cup.
2. Do not squeeze the handle while inserting the lens.
3. Gently place the scleral lens in the open eye.

To remove a lens:

1. Moisten the suction cup and squeeze the handle.
2. Place the suction cup against the scleral contact lens by using a mirror.
3. Release the tension on the handle to allow suction to hold the contact lens.
4. Take the lens from the eye, then squeeze the handle again to release the suction and remove the lens from the cup.

Care and Cleaning

• Clean the device with 70% isopropyl alcohol after every use and allow it to air dry.
• Store the device in its case once it is dry.
• Keep the air channel free of debris.
• Plan to replace it every six months.

Warnings

• Do not use with soft or hybrid contact lenses.
• Keep away from hand cream, hair gels, nail polish remover and oxidizing agents.
• Choking hazard. Keep this and all other medical devices away from small children.
• Not recommended for use on diseased or injured eyes.
• Consult an eye care professional in case of irritation, visual impairment or pain.

Storage

• Do not store warmer than 105 C / 220 F.
• Protect from direct sun.
