About the Product

A pack of five green DMV Luma-Serters. Each one is an illuminated inserter: a cup that pushes onto the lit end of a penlight so a beam of light shines up through it and guides the lens to the eye. Ribs inside the cup hold the lens clear of the surface so it does not adhere to the tool, and a light filter keeps lens solutions away from the penlight. The cup can also be used on a fingertip without the penlight. The moulded body contains dry natural rubber and does not contain liquid latex. Made in the United States.

This is the illuminated inserter in the DMV range, made for people with low vision who find a lit target easier to aim at. It is for inserting contact lenses larger than 13 mm in diameter, which covers scleral, soft, hybrid and gas permeable lenses. A penlight is not part of this pack. Five cups suit the six month replacement schedule and keeping spares in more than one place.

How to Use

1. Put the device on the lighted end of a penlight.
2. Place the contact lens on the centre of the cup.
3. Turn on the penlight and gently move the lens toward the open eye.
4. Hold the eyelids open with the other hand and place the lens on the cornea.
5. Once the lens has adhered to the eye, withdraw the device.

Care and Cleaning

• Clean the device with 70% isopropyl alcohol after every use and allow it to air dry.
• Store the device in its case once it is dry.
• Plan to replace it every six months.

Warnings

• Do not use with lenses smaller than 12.5 mm.
• Avoid sliding the device over the eye.
• Keep away from hand cream, hair gels, nail polish remover and oxidizing agents.
• Choking hazard. Keep this and all other medical devices away from small children.
• Not recommended for use on diseased or injured eyes.
• Consult an eye care professional in case of irritation, visual impairment or pain.

Storage

• Do not store warmer than 105 C / 220 F.
• Protect from direct sun.
