About the Product

The DMV Classic is a contact lens inserter and remover supplied ten tools to a box, in blue. Each tool is a small suction cup on a handle and is made with dry natural rubber, with no liquid latex. The handle is vented, with an air channel running through it, so the grip is controlled by how much the handle is compressed.

It is a contact lens handling tool for hard and gas permeable contact lenses, used in the daily routine of putting lenses in and taking them out. For insertion the wet lens sits on the cup and goes straight onto the eye with the handle left uncompressed; for removal the handle is compressed, the cup is touched to the center of the lens, and easing the pressure lets the cup take hold so the lens comes away. It is also used as an inserter and remover for other firm lenses such as rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses, and it is not for soft or hybrid contact lenses. What separates the Classic from the DMV Ultra is the vented, squeeze operated handle and the fact that the lens is carried on the cup itself during insertion. On the DMV Ultra the lens is placed instead on a shallow dimple at the narrow end of the handle.

How to Use

Insertion

1. Place the wet contact lens on the cup without compressing the handle. The wet lens will adhere to the cup.
2. Do not squeeze the handle while inserting the lens.
3. Place the contact lens directly on the eye.

Removal

1. Moisten the suction cup.
2. Be sure the contact lens is centered on the eye.
3. Compress the handle of the Classic and guide it to the center of the contact lens.
4. Touch the suction cup to the front of the lens, using a mirror.
5. Slightly release the pressure on the handle to cause the Classic to adhere.
6. Remove the lens from the eye.
7. Squeeze the handle again to release the suction and separate the lens from the cup.

Care and Cleaning

Each time after using the DMV Classic clean it with 70% isopropyl alcohol and allow to air dry. Store the device in its case after dry. Keep the air channel free of debris. Plan to replace it every six months.

Warnings

• If the Classic would accidentally become attached to the eye, squeeze the handle slightly to release the suction and remove it from the eye.
• Please keep this product away from liquids such as hand cream, hair gels, nail polish remover and strong oxidizing agents.
• Choking hazard. Keep this and all other medical devices away from small children.
• This product is not recommended to be used with diseased or injured eyes.
• If you experience an irritated eye, unusual visual impairment or pain, consult your eye care professional.

Storage

Do not store warmer than 105°C/220°F. Protect from direct Sun.
