About the Product

A pack of ten DMV 45 handlers. Each one has a suction cup for lifting a lens off the eye and a shallow dimple in the narrow end of the handle that carries a lens for insertion. The handle is offset 45 degrees from the cup and insertion pads, so the tool is held at an angle rather than straight on, which is the one difference from the DMV Ultra. The moulded body contains dry natural rubber and does not contain liquid latex. Made in the United States.

This is the angled handler in the DMV range, used most often for removing scleral lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses and also able to insert them. The 45 degree offset lets the hand approach from below the line of sight rather than in front of it, which some wearers prefer for aiming in a mirror. Ten handlers suit the six month replacement schedule and keeping spares in more than one place.

• Dry natural rubber The moulded body of the tool. It does not contain liquid latex, a known allergen.

How to Use

To insert a lens:

1. Place the wet contact lens on the shallow dimple in the narrow end of the handle, where it will adhere.
2. Touch the lens to the eye.

To remove a lens:

1. Moisten the suction cup and guide it to the eye.
2. Align the suction cup in front of the lens and touch it to the centre of the lens.
3. Take the contact lens directly from the eye.
4. After removal, carefully slide the contact lens sideways from the suction cup.

Care and Cleaning

• Clean the device with 70% isopropyl alcohol after every use and allow it to air dry.
• Store the device in its case once it is dry.
• Plan to replace it every six months.

Warnings

• Keep away from hand cream, hair gels, nail polish remover and oxidizing agents.
• Choking hazard. Keep this and all other medical devices away from small children.
• Not recommended for use on diseased or injured eyes.
• Consult an eye care professional in case of irritation, visual impairment or pain.

Storage

• Do not store warmer than 105 C / 220 F.
• Protect from direct sun.
