Product Information

About the Product

OPTASE PROTECT Eyelid Cleansing Spray is a pump spray supplied in a 100 mL bottle. The formula is three ingredients: water, salt at less than 5 percent, and hypochlorous acid at 0.015 percent, expressed as active chlorine released from hypochlorous acid. The hypochlorous acid is 99.6 percent pure, and the formula is alcohol free, preservative free and pH neutral.

This is a leave on eyelid and lash cleanser used as part of a daily eyelid hygiene routine, applied morning and evening. It is sprayed onto the closed eyelid from 6 to 10 inches away and left to dry naturally, so there is no rinsing or wiping step and no cotton pad or wipe is needed. The spray format means the same bottle serves both eyes and both daily applications.

Key Ingredients

  • Hypochlorous acid, 0.015 percent The cleansing agent in the formula, expressed as active chlorine released from hypochlorous acid. Its purity is 99.6 percent.
  • Sodium chloride, less than 5 percent Salt, the other solute in the solution.
  • Aqua Water, the carrier that makes up the remainder of the formula.

    Refreshing

I have ocular rocesea and this spray really helps with keeping bacteria from outside elements from irritating my eyes. I love how refreshing it feels especially when I feel flushed. I've been using this for two years as recommended by my eye doctor.

    Easy to use

My doctor says she can see a difference since I got this cleansing spray. I find it very easy to use and really like the fact that it has a longer shelf life than some of the others. One bottle will last a much longer time.

    Didn't work for me

This product burned my red and irritated skin and I had to discontinue use. Recommended by my eye doctor who had hopes it would help.

    Bad Item?

It made my eyes swell and itch the next morning after nighttime use. Maybe something is wrong with this bottle? I could not find a recall notice for this product. I'm afraid to try it again.
