About the Product
Systane Ultra Lubricant Eye Drops is a sterile ocular lubricant supplied in a 10 mL (1/3 fl oz) dropper bottle. It has two active ingredients, polyethylene glycol 400 0.4% and propylene glycol 0.3%, both eye lubricants. This is the preserved presentation: the formula is preserved with POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) 0.001%, and it also contains hydroxypropyl guar.
Systane Ultra sits in the over the counter artificial tear category, the lubricating drop people keep on hand for use through the day. One or two drops go into the affected eye as needed, with the bottle shaken before each use.
Uses
- For temporary relief of burning and irritation due to dryness of the eye
- For temporary relief of discomfort due to minor irritations of the eye or exposure to wind or sun
Active Ingredients

- Polyethylene Glycol 400, 0.4% An eye lubricant, and one of the two actives that give the solution its lubricating body.
- Propylene Glycol, 0.3% An eye lubricant, and a humectant that holds water in the formula.
Inactive Ingredients
Aminomethylpropanol, boric acid, hydroxypropyl guar, POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) 0.001% preservative, potassium chloride, purified water, sodium chloride, sorbitol. May contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.
How to Use
- Shake well before using.
- Put 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
Safe for use before and after contact lens wear. This is not a rewetting drop.
Warnings
For external use only
Do not use
- if this product changes color or becomes cloudy
- if you are sensitive to any ingredient in this product
When using this product
- do not touch tip of container to any surface to avoid contamination
- replace cap after each use
Stop use and ask a doctor if you experience any of the following
- eye pain
- changes in vision
- continued redness or irritation of the eye
- condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
Keep out of reach of children
If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Store at room temperature.
