Systane CONTACTS Rewetting Eye Drops for Soft, RGP, and Hard Contact Lenses (12mL)

About the Product

Systane CONTACTS is a contact lens rewetting solution supplied in a 12 mL bottle. It is indicated for use with daily and extended wear soft (hydrophilic) lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses (silicone acrylate and fluorosilicone acrylate) and hard contact lenses. The solution is preserved with polyquaternium-1 (POLYQUAD).

This is a lens rewetting drop rather than an eye drop used on a bare eye, so it belongs to the lens care side of the shelf. It is applied while the lenses are being worn, with no need to remove them first, and it moistens the lenses and helps remove debris. One or two drops are placed on the eye as needed through the day.

Materials

• Dextran A polysaccharide carried in the solution.
• Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose A cellulose polymer that gives the solution its viscosity.
• Sodium chloride and potassium chloride Salts that set the tonicity of the solution.
• Polyquaternium-1 (POLYQUAD) The preservative in the formula.
• Edetate disodium A chelating agent that helps keep the solution stable.

How to Use

1. Apply 1 or 2 drops on the eye as needed throughout the day, with the lenses still in place.
2. If minor irritation, discomfort or blurring occur while wearing lenses, place 1 or 2 drops on the eye and blink 2 or 3 times.

Warnings

• Patients allergic to any ingredient in this product should not use it.
• Never touch the dropper tip to any surface.
• Always wash hands before handling lenses.
• If discomfort persists, immediately remove contact lenses and see your eye care practitioner.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Storage

• Replace cap after use.
• Store at room temperature.
• Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
• Use before the expiration date.
