About the Product

Boston ADVANCE Comfort Formula Conditioning Solution is a sterile, aqueous, buffered, slightly hypertonic solution supplied in a 3.5 FL OZ (105 mL) bottle. It is preserved with chlorhexidine gluconate (0.003%), polyaminopropyl biguanide (0.0005%) and edetate disodium (0.05%). It is for wetting, disinfecting and soaking, after cleaning and rinsing, fluoro silicone acrylate and silicone acrylate rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

This is the soaking and conditioning step of the two bottle Boston ADVANCE lens care system for rigid gas permeable lenses, and it is used once a day at the end of wear. It follows cleaning with Boston ADVANCE Cleaner and rinsing with a saline solution, and lenses then soak in it for at least 4 hours or overnight before they are worn. It is a conditioning solution rather than a cleaner, and saline solution will not disinfect lenses in its place.

How to Use

To ensure proper disinfecting, all steps listed below must be followed:

1. Wash your hands with mild soap. (Caution - pump soaps may contain oil-based suspension agents.)
2. After cleaning with Boston ADVANCE® Cleaner rinse thoroughly with a saline solution indicated for the care of rigid gas permeable lenses. Bausch + Lomb Sensitive Eyes® Saline Solution is recommended. Place lenses in empty lens case and fill to top ridges with fresh Boston ADVANCE® Comfort Formula Conditioning Solution. Soak lenses for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before wearing. Always use fresh solution for soaking and storing lenses. Do not use saline solution to disinfect lenses.
3. After removing lenses from lens case, apply fresh Boston ADVANCE Comfort Formula Conditioning Solution to wet the lenses for additional conditioning, if desired, and insert. Discard solution from lens case after each use.

Always follow your eye care practitioner's instructions. Based upon your individual tear chemistry and lens-wearing schedule, your eye care practitioner may recommend additional products or procedures.

If not wearing contact lenses immediately, store in closed lens case. Do not store your lenses in simple saline solution. Saline solution will not disinfect.

Warnings

To avoid contamination, never touch dropper tip of the container with your hands or to any surface. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Contact lenses and solutions, if not handled properly, can become contaminated by common bacteria known to cause ocular infections. Serious damage to the eye and loss of vision may result from using contaminated solutions or from wearing contaminated or damaged contact lenses.

PROBLEMS WITH CONTACT LENSES AND LENS CARE PRODUCTS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO THE EYE. It is essential that you follow your eye care practitioner's directions and all labeling instructions for proper use of your lenses and lens care products, including the lens case.

Eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop rapidly and lead to loss of vision. Daily wear lenses are not indicated for overnight wear and should not be worn while sleeping. Clinical studies have shown that the risk of serious adverse reactions is increased when these lenses are worn overnight. Extended wear lenses should be regularly removed for cleaning and disinfection or for disposal and replacement on the schedule prescribed by your eye care practitioner. Clinical studies have shown that there is an increased incidence of serious adverse reactions in extended wear contact lens users as compared to daily wear contact lens users. Studies have also shown that the risk of serious adverse reactions increases the longer extended wear lenses are worn before removal for cleaning and disinfection or for disposal and replacement. Studies have also shown that smokers have a higher incidence of adverse reactions. If you experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes or redness of the eye, immediately remove your lenses and promptly contact your eye care practitioner. It is recommended that contact lens wearers see their eye care practitioner twice each year or, if directed, more frequently.

• Failure to discard solution from lens case after each use, "topping-off" solution or use of water to care for your lenses may lead to contamination resulting in eye injury and potential loss of vision.
• You should follow the complete recommended lens rubbing and rinsing times in the product labeling to adequately disinfect your lenses and reduce the risk of contact lens contamination. Reduced rubbing or rinsing time may not adequately clean your lenses.
• Never use water, saline solution, or rewetting drops to disinfect your lenses. These solutions will not disinfect your lenses. Not using the recommended disinfectant can lead to severe infection, vision loss or blindness.
• Do not store your lenses or rinse your lens case with water or any non-sterile solution. Only use fresh solution so you do not contaminate your lenses or lens case. Use of non-sterile solution can lead to severe infection, vision loss or blindness.
• Using your solution beyond the discard date could result in contamination of the solution and can lead to severe infection, vision loss or blindness.

Storage

Store solution at room temperature. Do not freeze. Discard any remaining solution within 90 days after opening. Record date opened in space provided on bottle label.
